What is a Chiropractic Adjustment?

The adjustment or manipulation of the joint is generally painless and often is reported to be a pleasurable experience. The purpose of the chiropractic adjustment is to affect or correct the motion and/or function of a vertebral joint. There are many techniques to accomplish this goal. Traditionally the adjustment is a quick thrust or movement that is often accompanied by an audible crack sound. This treatment can be very powerful in restoring motion, increasing performance and correcting abnormal movement.
